Savigny Les Beaune 1er Cru Les Peuillets, 2013, Domaine Pavelot
Note: because the soil drains so well here the vines can suffer greatly from drought conditions
An airy, cool and notably more elegant nose offers up layered aromas of various dark berries, especially currant, along with soft earth and herbal tea nuances.
There is reasonably good richness to the enveloping middle weight flavors that possess a round and equally cool mouth feel before terminating in an ever-so-mildly austere but not drying finish.
This is a classically styled Peuillets of understatement and grace.
