Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru - les Perrieres, 2013, Domaine Etienne Sauzet
Pale yellow. White peach, crushed stone and a suggestion of metallic minerality on the nose. Then surprisingly sweet and fine-grained in the middle; less dense but more silky than the Referts, spreading out to coat the palate. Lovely balance and stony minerality here, but not a powerful style.
This and the preceding premier crus are aging in a maximum of 20% new oak.
