Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru - les Folatieres, 2013, Domaine Etienne Sauzet
(four-fifths of this wine comes from the lieu-dit en la Richard, which is on roughly the same level of the hillside as Chevalier-Montrachet, but features more calcaire and less marne blanche):
Complex, faintly exotic aromas and flavors of yellow peach, pineapple and saline minerality. Very good volume and balance here, and serious concentration for the year.
Boudot told me that he now brings five or six liters of lees into the barrels for aging, with more nitrogen, which he describes as "an important change since 2003 or 2004.
