Meursault-Les Gruyaches, 2012, Domaine Jean Phillippe Fichet
Pale straw-yellow. Tight nose offers musky scents of ginger, quinine and mint.
Then supple and ripe in the mouth, showing an essentially pliant texture but also good calcaire energy--as well as some unabsorbed CO2--to the stone fruit, ginger, hazelnut and saline mineral flavors.
Crushed-stone minerality gives the finish noteworthy definition and energy. Needs cellaring.
