Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru, 2012, Domaine Arnoux Lachaux
Note: from a .53 ha parcel; 80% whole cluster
Like the Reignots this is closed and brooding at present though aggressive swirling grudgingly liberates cool, pure and airy red berry fruit scents along with a profusion of floral elements that are also trimmed in a discreet application of wood.
There is a lovely sense of energy and underlying tension to the intensely mineral-driven, focused, precise and driving medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a moderately austere and gorgeously sustained finale.
This is very Latricières and should age accordingly.
