Vougeot 1er Cru Clos de la Perrière (Magnum), 2011, Domaine Bertagna
Note: a 2.25 ha monopole
Upon opening the bottle this was quite deeply reduced and even after 24 hours of air it remains moderately reduced though to be fair not as pronounced as it was initially.
Otherwise there is good verve, detail and reasonably good concentration to the middle weight flavors that exhibit a lovely bead of minerality on the somewhat dry and austere finish. It's hard to see where this is going because as the description suggests this is very awkward today.
Note that in terms of the suggested drinking window that I have chosen a middle ground as it's not pleasant, and won't be, over the early term and it risks drying out over the longer-term.
