Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, 2007, Domaine Arnoux Lachaux
2007 Clos de Vougeot: (from vines next to the wall by Grands Echézeaux).
Moderate but not intrusive wood spice frames earthy, fresh and dense aromas of red and blue fruit that precede focused, textured, concentrated and sappy medium weight plus flavors that possess a subtle mineral streak that runs all the way to the impressively long finish.
This is a serious example of Clos de Vougeot but one that carries perhaps a bit less finishing austerity than usual. For the patient.
