Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru, 2013, Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot
Bright, pale yellow. High-pitched perfume of white flowers, white pepper and noble herbs, along with a strong element of clove. At once silky and crystalline, offering outstanding finesse to its flavors of grapefruit, white flowers and crushed stone.
Distinctly softer in style than the Clos Saint-Marc but the dusty, palate-saturating finish really mounts and builds without any loss of energy.
This wine will go into a once-used barrel for the last six months of its elevage.
