Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot Les Fairendes, 2011, Domaine Jean-Marc Pillot

Musky white peach and citrus peel on the nose. Rich and round on the palate, even a bit glyceral, but given spine by subtle minerality and lovely citrus cut. Very good density and verve here:

I would have been hard-pressed to pick this blind as Morgeot. "On the starting block today," noted Pillot. Healthy ripe acidity here. Pillot now uses a maximum of 30% new oak for his crus.
