Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesir, 2008, Domaine des Malandes
Note: from a .90 ha parcel planted in 1967 and 1987 and matured in 1 to 5 year old oak
Here the wood is more evident though not actually intrusive with lightly spiced white flower, peach and pear aromas that are in keeping with the rich, minerally and relatively powerful yet precise flavors that deliver excellent finishing length.
Despite the muscled mid-palate, the finish is more on the side of finesse than volume.
