Auxey Duresses, 2006, Maison Deux Montille Sceur Frere
A subtle touch of wood toast sets off a ripe green fruit nose that also displays underbrush hints that can also be found on the round, ripe and more obviously concentrated medium-bodied flavors that trade detail for power while culminating in a punchy finish that really coats the palate.
This is not an elegant wine but it stops short of obvious rusticity. A fine villages that should reward 1 to 3 years of cellar time.
